The Official Safety & Equipment Document for the Danish National Singlehand Championships is now available. There is no news of the content in the new document it's merely an edited version with full focus on singlehand only.
That means also that the Blogpost: "Changes to Gear and Safety protocol for the Danish Singlehand Championship explained" still is worth while reading before deciding your participation.
Safety First
A concern and a point of critique from potential participants are the expenses of an AIS-receiver/transponder and a mast top mounted VHF.
The Race Committee and the Danish Sailing Association support the concept of safety as priority 1 - especially when sailing solo and in the pitch black nights of August. So AIS and VHF are basic safety equipment that all saiors - racers as cruisers should consider as the standard when sailing in highly congested in areas as the Danish/German/Swedish waters are.
